In 2003, the Elton Courir took a new route that started at
the American Legion Hut in town and went northeast of Elton before circling back. The
courir at left is pictured at about noon on their way to the boudin stop for lunch.
During the first stop after lunch, the Mardi Gras chased a
few chickens, but there was also time for music and for socializing with family members
and friends.
The weather was mostly overcast,
with enough chill in the air that a few Mardi Gras decided to start a small fire a stove
on one wagon during the boudin stop.
